Flex Barista

Position Title: Flex Barista

Hours: Part-Time, flexible

Compensation:  $16.75 + Tips (see below for other benefits)

Reports to: Retail Manager


  • Be a brand ambassador, exhibiting hospitality and genuine care for customers and co-workers
  • Own guest service, according to BCR Hospitality Guide
  • Demonstrate a stellar knowledge of BCR’s coffee and other offerings as well as policies and procedures, according to BCR Barista training materials, Sling thread updates & BCR Employee Handbook
  • Prepare and serve amazing beverages to BCR standards
  • Prepare and serve delicious food in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Cash handling/POS operation
  • Anticipate customer and coffee bar needs, in accordance with BCR Hospitality Guide
  • Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines in accordance with Health Department standards presented by BCR management
  • Maintain BCR spaces- Bar, back rooms/kitchens, seating areas, restrooms, outdoor spaces- in clean & welcoming order, according to BCR Hospitality Guide
  • Represent BCR at off-site events
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Follow emergency procedures for deescalation of conflict when applicable
  • Follow BCR reconciliation procedures when applicable
  • Follow on-call communication procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Time & Task Management:

  • Clocked in & working the floor by 5 mins after scheduled shift start, in accordance w/Tardiness Policy
  • Use proactive time management to complete all shift tasks as assigned
  • Support coworkers in the completion of their shift tasks through cooperative time management, reminders & check-ins
  • Complete shared shift tasks throughout the day, in cooperation with coworkers
  • Drive for sales results
  • Manage inventory using the MOD Decision-Making Guide
  • Follow emergency procedures when applicable
  • Cooperatively make staffing decisions in accordance with the MOD Decision-Making Guide, when applicable
  • Open & close the coffee bar to BCR standard, both in cooperation with coworkers and working independently
  • Follow event procedures for good stewardship of BCR equipment, setting up, cleaning & returning event kits in excellent working order
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess: 
    • Previous leadership experience 
    • Previous barista experience

*Position includes occasionally bending, lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds and frequently bending, lifting and carrying objects up to 20 pounds. Position also includes working while standing for long periods of time.*
